The past twenty-five years have given me broad experience in the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. I have worked with individuals, governing boards and small groups in capacities including coach, facilitator, contributor and counselor. Throughout my career my love of small group process has been a constant thread, from teaching junior high school to facilitating and training in the corporate world. Since 1989 I have been a consultant in the practice of career management and development, counseling individuals through personal transitions and facilitating small groups through institutional and organizational change. I have worked as an independent practitioner for more than eleven years. During that time I have also worked in the non-for-profit sector as a facilitator, speaker and consultant.

In the spring of 2002 I completed an 18-month internship in the principles of Health Realization, an understanding of our human psychological and spiritual foundations that has been applied in myriad settings throughout the world. This understanding grounds our thriving in environments of constant change and our being resilient, creative contributors to the workplace and to the planet. Health Realization seeks the psychological and spiritual health in our individual lives and points to innate well-being and wholeness. I look for that as I work with individuals and groups.

This orientation to health and wholeness enable me to assist individuals as they examine the entirety of their lives, not just the job or career portion, which was my earlier concentration. My own background, including corporate sales experience, teaching and training, as well as career development, counseling and coaching, well prepares me to work with clients as they are seeking greater meaning and fulfillment in their lives. I have been a chameleon in my own right, having reinvented myself in many careers. My greatest professional and personal satisfaction is in helping others in their process of finding or creating meaning in their lives.

I have experience in the not for profit world of education, as well as the for profit world of education; and in the securities industry, working for global companies; as well as with privately-held, tightly managed entrepreneurial ventures. For more than 10 years I have worked as an independent practitioner, piecing together various functions into the fabric that is the whole of what I do.

My Master of Science is in Secondary Education with a specialty in Counseling, and I hold a B.S. in Secondary Education with a concentration in Common Learnings, both earned from the University of Kansas. I am certified as a Career Management Practitioner and to interpret the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Highlands Ability Battery, as well as to offer The Coaching Clinic. I am a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia. I am certified to interpret The Highlands Ability Battery (THAB) and to teach several of the introductory course series for the University of Phoenix.

For more than ten years I have been a participant in the Great Decisions program of the Georgia Council for International Visitors, and am a member of the International Business Women's Network. Additionally, I am a member of the Atlanta Women in Business network; the American Counseling Association, the National and Georgia Career Development Associations; and the Association of Career Professionals, International. I am a member of the Resource Board of The Mountain Retreat and Learning Centers in Highlands, NC and former board member with the human resources portfolio.

More recently, in the last two years, I am a founding member of the Atlanta Health Realization Group (AHRG) and principal in Uncommon Wisdom, Inc., an education and training organization dedicated to sharing the understanding of Health Realization.

I welcome your comments and reflections. Please be in touch with me by phone or email.
